[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] GS25 announced on the 6th that it will hold a special reservation event for 'car accessories' and provide a 'car home care' service.
This event, held until the 24th, reflects the social trend of increased private car usage due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and the growing importance of hygiene.
The car accessories offered at special reservation prices by GS25 include ▲built-in air purifier (369,000 KRW) ▲black box 32G (298,000 KRW) ▲black box 16G (228,000 KRW) ▲ECM room mirror Hi-Pass (198,000 KRW) ▲air conditioner filter (49,900 KRW), totaling 5 items.
The event is planned with products that have high actual demand such as car air purifiers and black boxes, and is offered at special prices up to 30% cheaper than market prices. When applying the membership of telecommunications companies partnered with GS25, an additional discount of up to 10% is provided.
Additionally, GS25 offers a car home care service to customers who purchase car accessories. Car home care is a service where a car expert visits the desired time and place of the customer to install the purchased car accessories and manage the interior environment of the vehicle.
In particular, the interior environment management involves the car expert sterilizing and disinfecting the vehicle interior with eco-friendly certified ingredients such as peracetic acid and pine needle oil, removing bacteria and odors present on car seats and other areas. However, considering the characteristics of the built-in air purifier, instead of the interior environment management service, an additional replacement filter is provided. There is no separate additional cost for using the service.
Customers wishing to purchase car accessories can complete payment at any GS25 store nationwide by the 24th of each month, enter their phone number at the checkout (POS), and specify the desired date and location when guided by a happy call to receive the service.
Meanwhile, the three types of 'national subsidy Hi-Pass devices' introduced by GS25 at the end of January ? eco-friendly devices (for electric, hydrogen cars, AEBS-equipped buses), freight vehicle devices (over 4.5 tons), and devices for national veterans and disabled persons ? surpassed a cumulative sales volume of 1,000 units as of the end of March.
For eco-friendly devices, it was confirmed that 20% of nationwide sales were made through GS25. Subsidized devices can be reserved and purchased at GS25 in April as well, and purchased products are shipped by courier to the customer's desired delivery location.
Jongwan Lee, Manager of the Service Products Team at GS Retail, said, "We are continuously expanding the range of mobility services by expanding car accessories and introducing car home care services to meet the increasing number of private car users recently. We will continue to introduce various car accessories and differentiated services every month to strengthen our position as a mobility platform."
