[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 6th that it will provide various additional benefits besides a 10% rebate to customers who purchase top-efficiency home appliances such as TVs, air conditioners, and air purifiers.
The Korea Energy Agency offers a 10% rebate on the purchase cost, up to a personal limit of 300,000 KRW, for top-efficiency home appliances in 10 categories including air conditioners, air purifiers, TVs, washing machines, refrigerators, and kimchi refrigerators until the end of this year.
LG Electronics explained that it is actively participating in the ‘Top-Efficiency Home Appliance Purchase Cost Rebate Program’ to help customers purchase energy-saving high-efficiency appliances more reasonably. LG Electronics’ rebate-eligible appliances include about 190 models.
Customers who wish to receive the rebate can apply by attaching photos of the efficiency grade label, the manufacturing number plate, transaction details, and receipts of the purchased product on the Top-Efficiency Rebate Program website by January 15 of next year. The program will end early once the budget of 150 billion KRW is exhausted.
LG Electronics offers various benefits separately from the government rebate. Customers who purchase rebate-eligible appliances at LG Electronics Best Shops or LG Electronics stores in department stores by June 30 can participate in the ‘Adding More Benefits to Top Efficiency!’ prize event.
Customers who purchase eligible models can enter the event by pressing the event button on the LG Electronics Membership app. Among the participants, 2,020 winners will be selected by lottery to receive prizes such as Trom Styler Plus, Pra.L Derma LED Neck Care, PuriCare Mini Air Purifier, Best Shop store model blocks, and Americano coupons.
Customers who purchase rebate-eligible Ultra HD TVs (75/65/55/49 inch) can receive additional benefits up to 200,000 KRW, including cashback and mobile gift certificates provided by LG Electronics, in addition to the rebate.
Customers who purchase rebate-eligible stand-type 2-in-1 Whisen air conditioners can receive up to 450,000 KRW in additional cashback. Customers who have used relatively low-efficiency fixed-speed air conditioners for more than 10 years and purchase the 2020 model Whisen ThinQ air conditioner can also receive mobile gift certificates worth up to 100,000 KRW through an event on the LG Electronics website.
Customers who purchase rebate-eligible LG PuriCare 360˚ air purifiers (model names: AS309DWS, AS247DWE) at online or offline stores will receive moving wheels for convenient mobility of the air purifier. Additionally, if customers register their products on the LG Electronics website, they can receive one free maintenance service where a Care Solution manager replaces the filter and cleans and inspects the product.
Customers who purchase rebate-eligible Trom washing machines with a 21kg capacity simultaneously with other clothing care appliances such as mini wash, Styler, or dryers of 14kg or more will receive up to 800,000 KRW in additional cashback besides the rebate.
LG Electronics conducts membership point giveaways by purchase amount, affiliated card-linked points and cashback programs, and store visit certification events for customers who purchase at Best Shops.
