Partial Support for Solar Mini Power Plant Installation Costs for Local Residents Until the End of November... 70 Million KRW Budgeted... Total of 640 Units Supported Including 600 Veranda-Type and 40 Residential-Type
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is promoting the 'Solar Mini Power Plant Distribution Support' project until November 30 to improve air quality and achieve energy self-sufficiency.
The district will invest 70 million KRW in the budget to support installation costs for a total of 640 units, including 600 veranda-type units and 40 residential-type units, targeting buildings located within the area.
Solar mini power plants can be installed on apartment and house verandas, as well as rooftops of detached houses, with capacities ranging from 50W to 3kW.
When installing a mini power plant, a 300W unit can produce the average monthly electricity consumption of one household refrigerator, and installing a 3kW residential-type system can save approximately 90,000 to 100,000 KRW on electricity bills per month.
Any resident living in the area can apply (tenants are also eligible), and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Residents who wish to install can apply through distribution companies, the solar support call center (☎1566-0494), or online (http://www.sunnyseoul), and the district will provide subsidies to the distribution companies.
Information on distribution companies and district/city support amounts can be found on the district website, and for further details, inquiries can be made to the Clean Environment Division of Dongjak-gu Office.
Last year, the district supported installation costs for a total of 640 mini power plants, including 600 veranda-type and 40 residential-type units, and since 2016, a total of 2,377 units (2,317 veranda-type and 60 residential-type) have been installed.
Jungsim Lee, Director of the Clean Environment Division, said, "The use of eco-friendly energy simultaneously achieves air quality improvement by reducing fine dust and electricity bill savings," and added, "We hope for active participation from interested residents."
The district is also investing district funds to create a clean urban environment without exhaust fumes by supporting the installation of 4,000 eco-friendly boilers and the purchase of 40 eco-friendly electric vehicles by December.
