Geumcheon-gu Childcare Comprehensive Support Center Launches Play Package Drive-Thru Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is implementing the ‘Wise Home Stay Life - Play Kit Drive-Thru’ service to support residents struggling with home childcare due to the local spread of COVID-19.

The ‘Wise Home Stay Life - Play Kit Drive-Thru’ service was planned by the Geumcheon-gu Childcare Support Center to encourage residents practicing social distancing at home, as childcare facilities such as daycare centers and the Geumcheon-gu Childcare Support Center have been closed for an extended period due to the COVID-19 situation, aiming to assist with child-rearing.

The Geumcheon-gu Childcare Support Center will distribute play kits that allow families with preschool children in the area to enjoy fun activities at home to 100 households.

The play kits consist of six types: △ Box Robot Making △ Growing Bean Sprouts △ Soft Soap Making △ Spring Sound Bell Making △ Colored Paper Cups △ Animal Spinning Tops.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting from 10 a.m. on the 8th until supplies last, and the play kits will be distributed via drive-thru at the entrance of the Geumcheon-gu Office parking lot on the 10th. Later, through a review event, participants who post videos or photos of playing with the kits will be randomly selected to receive small prizes.

Residents wishing to participate can apply online through the Geumcheon-gu Childcare Support Center website (www.happycare.or.kr).

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “As the COVID-19 situation prolongs, we planned this project to ease the childcare burden on families with young children who may be exhausted from home care,” adding, “Let us all work together to overcome COVID-19 as soon as possible.”
