[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seocho District Council (Chairman An Jongsuk) invited local small business owners on the 2nd to listen to their opinions on overcoming the crisis caused by decreased sales due to COVID-19.


The meeting was attended by a total of 14 people, including Chairman An Jongsuk, Seoul City Council members Choo Seungwoo and Kwon Younghee, Seocho District Council members Kim Jungwoo and Heo Eun, Yoon Joonghwan, president of the Seocho Small Business Association, Director Kim Songhyun, Kim Kyungbae, president of the Maljukgeori Small Business Association, and the head of the local economy department.


Chairman An Jongsuk opened the discussion by saying, “The prolonged COVID-19 situation has caused severe damage and difficulties for small business owners, which is very concerning. This meeting was organized to listen to the challenges on the ground and find practical ways to provide help.”


During the meeting, participants freely exchanged opinions on ways to promote the use of local love gift certificates based on Zero Pay in connection with the Seoul City’s emergency disaster relief fund payments. Chairman An stated, “I hope the executive branch will form a Zero Pay activation TF team and hold regular meetings to help small business owners overcome this difficult time and regain their precious daily lives.”


Prior to the meeting, on the 26th of last month, Chairman An met with Jo Byunggeon, head of the local economy department, to discuss policies and measures that could help revitalize small businesses in the area.
