KT Exports IPTV Service to Thailand

KT Exports IPTV Service to Thailand Kim Young-woo, Executive Director of KT Global Business Division, and Sanap Pisikul, President of 3BB TV, are signing a contract during a video conference.


[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] KT announced on the 5th that it has signed a 24 billion KRW 'IPTV Service Supply Contract' with 3BB TV, the IPTV operator of Thailand's Jasmine Group, for the commercialization of IPTV services in Thailand.


Jasmine Group expects this to be an opportunity to become the number one telecommunications company in Thailand with a competitive product combining the high-speed internet of its group company TTBB and the IPTV service of 3BB TV.


To this end, KT will supply technologies related to the entire IPTV business, including IPTV·OTT solutions, CDN (Content Delivery Network)·network optimization technology, advertising·coupon·search·recommendation services, and set-top box management, so that 3BB TV can commercialize IPTV services in Thailand in the second half of this year.


Along with supplying IPTV solutions optimized for the local environment in Thailand, KT plans to provide its unique customer-oriented media content composition and UI·UX identity. Based on this, KT aims to leverage Korea's top IPTV capabilities in global business and establish itself as Asia's leading global media specialized company providing comprehensive media-related solutions.


Kim Young-woo, Executive Director of KT's Global Business Division, said, "This is a great opportunity for KT to showcase its accumulated IPTV capabilities in the global market, and we will contribute to 3BB TV's leap to become the number one IPTV operator in the Thai market." He added, "Based on this experience, we will collaborate with internet operators worldwide who absolutely need IPTV services and grow into a global media specialized company."
