[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Military prosecutors have requested an arrest warrant for Private A, known as an accomplice of Jo Joo-bin (24, in custody), the operator of the Telegram 'Doctor's Room' who produced and distributed sexual exploitation materials.

According to military officials on the 5th, military prosecutors filed an arrest warrant for Private A with the military court that morning. The military court will decide whether to detain Private A.

Private A is suspected of distributing sexual exploitation materials targeting women hundreds of times in the 'Doctor's Room' operated by Jo Joo-bin and promoting the Doctor's Room externally. Private A is reported to be 'Igiya,' one of the three co-operators of the Doctor's Room revealed by Jo Joo-bin's lawyer.

The military police reportedly made an emergency arrest of Private A on the 3rd and investigated the specific timing of the crimes and the relationship with Jo Joo-bin. There are also claims that the user with the chat name 'Igiya' was active in the Telegram chat room until recently, so they are verifying whether the crimes were committed during the service period.

Civilian police conducted a search and seizure of mobile phones and other items at the unit where Private A is serving on the 3rd. The military police plan to continue the investigation related to Private A after receiving case-related information from the civilian police. The mobile phones and other devices seized by the police will also be transferred to the military police after digital forensics.
