[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased to 10,237 as of the 5th.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that the number of confirmed domestic cases increased by 81 compared to the previous day as of midnight.

Among them, 24 cases were identified during quarantine. Additional cases in the metropolitan area and Daegu-Gyeongbuk region were 36 and 11, respectively.

By region, Seoul had the highest number with 24 cases, followed by Gyeonggi (10), Daegu (7), Gyeongbuk (4), Jeju (3), Gangwon (3), Incheon (2), Gwangju (1), Daejeon (1), Jeonbuk (1), and Gyeongnam (1).

The number of patients who have been declared recovered and released from isolation increased by 138 to 6,463. The death toll rose by 6 to 183 during the same period.
