[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-in, the overall election campaign committee chairman of the United Future Party, who has been continuously making 'piercing remarks' against the government since the election campaign officially began on the 2nd, will visit Daejeon, Chungbuk, and Sejong regions on the 5th to win the public sentiment in the Chungcheong area.

The United Future Party announced that on this day, Chairman Kim will visit Daejeon to hold a campaign committee meeting and then support the election campaigns of candidates in Daejeon, Chungbuk, and Sejong regions.

Chairman Kim will hold a campaign committee meeting for the Daejeon area at 11 a.m. in Jung-gu, Daejeon, and start support campaigns at 1:20 p.m. beginning with Lee Jang-woo, the United Future Party candidate for Dong-gu, Daejeon. At 2 p.m., he will support candidates in Seo-gu and Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, and conduct a live discussion. Lee Young-gyu and Yang Hong-gyu are campaigning in Seo-gu Gap and Eul, while Jang Dong-hyuk and Kim So-yeon are campaigning in Yuseong-gu Gap and Eul, respectively.

At 3 p.m., he will support candidates in Cheongju, Chungbuk, deliver a statement on 'National Health and Safety,' and visit local livelihood sites. At 4:50 p.m., he will support Kim Jung-ro and Kim Byung-joon, candidates for Sejong Gap and Eul.

Chairman Kim, who has been actively supporting election campaigns, has been continuously making piercing remarks against the government and the ruling coalition. During a campaign in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, on the 3rd, regarding the controversy over 'Yoon Seok-yeol's close aides,' he said, "Where could such behavior of mistreating the Prosecutor General during an ongoing election come from?" and criticized the ruling coalition's response, saying, "Personally, I do not understand why they are attacking the prosecution so indiscriminately as if they have committed many crimes."

Also, at the Busan City Party's election countermeasures committee on the 4th, he pointed out, "The government is shouting 'Save Cho Kuk' ahead of this serious election. The government is not only incompetent but also lacks conscience and dignity," and criticized, "Despite the grave task of reviving the collapsing economy, the current government is recklessly making one individual an election issue."

Furthermore, during a support campaign for candidates in the Busan area, he criticized the government's economic policy, saying, "Recently, the phrase 'Whether you die from COVID-19 or starve to death, it's the same' has been circulating," and added, "In 1956, people chanted 'We can't live like this! Let's change!' during the presidential election, and I thought that slogan fits the current situation perfectly."
