[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] POSCO International announced on the 5th that its employees delivered handkerchiefs and sneakers made by themselves to vulnerable children both domestically and abroad.

This activity is especially meaningful as about 950 POSCO International employees participated in 'social distancing' to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while practicing sharing. Employees made handkerchiefs with their families at home and painted sneakers as part of a remote social contribution (family participation volunteer activity).

The handkerchiefs will be delivered to about 600 children awaiting adoption at institutions and foster homes through Dongbang Social Welfare Society, which collaborates with POSCO International. The sneakers are planned to be sent to about 350 children in the Philippines and Myanmar.

Additionally, the donations included in the kit purchase cost provided by the company will be used for basic childcare supplies and daily necessities for children awaiting adoption, as well as health and hygiene projects for children in developing countries.

Joo Si-bo, President of POSCO International, who participated in the volunteer activity, said, "Although social distance is maintained due to COVID-19, our hearts should be closer than ever in difficult times," adding, "It is necessary to have an attitude of sharing with neighbors in need."

Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, POSCO International delivered masks and hand sanitizers to about 400 children belonging to 13 local children's centers in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, in February, and in March, participated in POSCO Group's medical relief supplies delivery, quarantine, and prevention activities by donating 200 million won. Furthermore, the company continues to carry out blood donation activities, conducted bimonthly since 2016, this year as well, striving to practice its corporate citizenship management philosophy.
