16-Year-Old High School Student Living in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu and 35-Year-Old Man Living in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu Test Positive After Returning to Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] In Gangnam-gu, two additional COVID-19 positive cases were confirmed among individuals recently arrived from the United States, increasing the total number of confirmed cases in the district to 50 as of the 4th.
Previously, the 45th confirmed case was transferred to another local government after it was confirmed that their actual residence was outside the district.
A 16-year-old high school student residing in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, arrived on the afternoon of the 21st of last month from Michigan, USA, on Delta Air Lines. The student had no symptoms and stayed at home continuously until tested at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center on the 3rd, where the test result came back positive that morning.
Also, a 35-year-old male living in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, who worked as a restaurant manager in New York, USA, returned on the afternoon of the 3rd via Asiana Airlines flight A350. After being tested at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center, he was confirmed positive that morning.
Following the government's strict social distancing guidelines, Gangnam-gu has fully closed the 4.25 km section of the Yangjaecheon walking trail between Tancheon 2 Bridge and Yeongdong 2 Bridge until midnight on the 5th.
