In Seoul, new cases of COVID-19 continue to emerge, mainly among incoming travelers and members of Manmin Central Church in Guro-gu.
On the 4th, Dongdaemun-gu announced that a 34-year-old woman living in Dapsimni 1-dong and a 53-year-old man living in Hwikyung 2-dong were confirmed as the 29th and 30th cases in the district. The 29th case is the mother of a 9-month-old baby who was previously confirmed as the 28th case. She returned from the United States on the 1st and has been hospitalized with the baby since the 3rd, showing no symptoms.
The 30th case in Dongdaemun-gu had been in self-quarantine since the 23rd of last month after contact with a confirmed colleague living in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province. However, he tested positive just before the quarantine was to be lifted.
Additionally, a man in his 20s living in Ujangsan-dong, Gangseo-gu (Gangseo-gu case 23), a 36-year-old woman living in Seorim-dong, Gwanak-gu (Gwanak-gu case 39), a 25-year-old woman living in Bukgajwa-dong, Seodaemun-gu (Seodaemun-gu case 17), and a man in his 30s living in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu (Mapo-gu case 19) were confirmed positive after returning from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines, respectively.
In Jungnang-gu, a 51-year-old woman living in Junghwa 1-dong was confirmed as the 15th case in the district. She is presumed to have been infected while working as a colleague of the 46th confirmed case in Gangnam-gu. Investigations revealed that she visited Cheongdam Station and Junghwa Station on Seoul Subway Line 7, as well as Seonjeongneung Station on the Bundang Line, on the 31st of last month and the 1st of this month.
In Gwanak-gu, additional confirmed cases among Manmin Central Church members have been reported. The 40th case in Gwanak-gu, a 52-year-old woman living in Sillim-dong, is presumed to have been infected through contact with a previously confirmed church pastor.
