Wildfire in Uiwang Hills... Four Helicopters Deployed for Extinguishing (Update)

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] A fire broke out around 3 PM on the 4th in a mountain near Sanagol, Ojeon-dong, Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and the forestry authorities are currently working to extinguish it. No casualties have been reported so far.

Upon the outbreak, the forestry authorities deployed about 10 pieces of equipment including 4 helicopters and around 100 personnel including firefighters to extinguish the fire. However, strong winds at the wildfire site are reportedly making the firefighting efforts difficult.

The police and forestry authorities plan to investigate the exact scale of the damage and the cause of the fire once the extinguishing operation is completed.
