[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Three international students of Vietnamese nationality are facing deportation after leaving their self-quarantine location without their mobile phones.

According to Jeonbuk Province on the 4th, at around 7 p.m. on the 3rd, a public official from Gunsan City confirmed during a telephone check that three international students?two women in their 20s and one man, all Vietnamese nationals?had left their self-quarantine location.

The responsible official visited their residence to verify the breach and requested the police to locate them.

Police investigation revealed that the three students stayed for about five hours at Eunpa Lake Park in Naun-dong, Gunsan City, and notably, they left their mobile phones at their residence to avoid location tracking.

The three students, who are friends, entered the country between March 28 and April 1, recently tested negative, and were quarantined in a one-room apartment.

Gunsan City reported the self-quarantine violation to the Ministry of Justice on the same day, and a decision on deportation will be made soon.

A Jeonbuk Province official stated, "Regardless of nationality, all individuals under self-quarantine must faithfully fulfill their quarantine duties and cooperate to prevent community spread," adding, "We will strictly enforce a zero-tolerance policy against violations."
