[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] On the 4th, the number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 94, bringing the total confirmed cases to 10,156.
According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters for COVID-19, as of midnight on that day, Daegu reported 27 more patients than the previous day. The cumulative confirmed cases in Daegu rose to 6,761. In the metropolitan area, including Seoul (22), Gyeonggi (23), and Incheon (3), the number increased by 48. There were 15 new cases confirmed through airport quarantine from overseas arrivals on the previous day. So far, the total number of confirmed cases imported from overseas is 688, with 631 being Korean nationals and 57 foreigners.
Among the total 10,156 confirmed cases, 6,325 have been released from isolation after recovery, an increase of 304 from the previous day. The number of deaths increased by 3 from the day before, reaching 177.
