The agency Real Slow Company posted a message on their official website, saying, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern with unfortunate news during these turbulent times." They added, "Wheesung is going through an unbearable time due to his father's sudden passing, the consecutive deaths of acquaintances he worked with, and difficult incidents entangled last year."
In the following statement, they said, "On the day he collapsed in a public restroom, Wheesung had left his home, cut off contact with his family, and was found in the restroom. However, after the police investigation and being sent home, he showed symptoms such as extreme thoughts, depression, and panic disorder, leading to his hospitalization at a related hospital." They added, "He is currently undergoing psychiatric treatment and is cooperating sincerely with the police investigation."
The agency stated that Wheesung plans to actively participate in the investigation. They also said that he will continue treatment with his family after the investigation.
Earlier, on the 1st, Wheesung was found collapsed in a restroom of a building in Songpa-gu, Seoul, after injecting a sleep-inducing drug, prompting police to respond. Several syringes, bottles containing liquid, and plastic bags were reportedly found at the scene. The police are currently conducting an investigation.
