Russia's COVID-19 Cases Surpass 4,000: "601 New Cases in One Day"

According to TASS news agency and others, the Russian government's COVID-19 import and spread prevention headquarters announced on the 3rd (local time) that "601 additional confirmed cases were reported in 32 regions, including Moscow, over the past day," and "the total cumulative confirmed cases have risen to 4,149."

In the capital city of Moscow alone, 448 additional confirmed cases were reported, increasing the total infections to 2,923.

The Moscow city headquarters stated, "Among the additional confirmed cases, 17 are children," and "nearly half of the new confirmed cases are young adults aged 45 or younger."

In the Moscow region near Moscow city, 34 new cases were reported, and in the second-largest city, Sankt Peterburg, 9 new confirmed cases were reported. The number of deaths due to COVID-19 also increased by 4, bringing the total to 34.
