[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] Singer Jung Joon-young (31) has received a summary order for a fine on charges of prostitution, separate from the ongoing trial for sexual assault and other allegations.

According to the court on the 3rd, Judge Lee Ki-hong of the 24th Criminal Division at the Seoul Central District Court recently issued a summary order imposing a fine of 1 million won on Jung, who was summarily prosecuted for violating the Act on the Punishment of Acts of Arranging Sexual Traffic (prostitution).

Kim, the MD in charge of operations at the club Burning Sun, who was also summarily prosecuted, received a summary order for a fine of 2 million won.

Earlier, in January, during the process of indicting singer Seungri (real name Lee Seung-hyun, 30) without detention on charges including habitual gambling, the prosecution requested summary orders for prostitution charges against Jung, Kim, and two others.

Jung is currently on trial for violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (filming using cameras, etc.) along with singer Choi Jong-hoon and others. He was sentenced to six years in prison in the first trial last November and has appealed, with the second trial ongoing.
