COVID-19 is spreading worldwide. As of 9 a.m. on March 31, the number of countries with confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 206, with confirmed cases increasing by 64,853 to a total of 770,138, and deaths totaling 36,796.
While governments and organizations around the world are focusing on quarantine measures to prevent damage caused by COVID-19, Dr.Clo, a disinfectant developed by the domestic technology-driven venture company N.O.N Co., Ltd., is receiving great responses not only in Korea but also globally.
Dr.Clo, first developed domestically by N.O.N Co., Ltd. in 2014, is a product that can continuously disinfect for about 40 to 60 days simply by placing the product, without the hassle of wiping or spraying. It has been proven effective by domestic accredited institutions as well as by accredited institutions in Japan and China.
N.O.N Co., Ltd. holds various patents through its own technology development and is a venture company that developed Dr.Clo with the philosophy of "making safe things completely." It especially possesses unique technology for concentration control. In 2016, supported by the Korean government, it conducted inhalation toxicity and non-clinical tests for the first time on a disinfectant product, and in 2017, it completed registration as a Class 1 medical device with the U.S. FDA, leading the way in making safe disinfectants.
Furthermore, N.O.N Co., Ltd. began developing chlorine dioxide disinfectant technology in 2012 and has since established world-class technology, gaining steady attention overseas even before the COVID-19 outbreak. It is also the only chlorine dioxide disinfectant stick registered with the U.S. FDA.
Lee Dong-hae, head of the overseas sales team at N.O.N Co., Ltd., said, "Since the humidifier disinfectant incident, Korea has had stricter and more rigorous quality verification for disinfectants and sanitizers than any other country in the world," adding, "Due to COVID-19, overseas customers seeking disinfectants and sanitizers with proven efficacy and safety are steadily increasing."
Meanwhile, Dr.Clo, which has proven disinfecting power and safety, recently signed large-scale supply contracts with Japan and Hong Kong, and is actively expanding into the global market by negotiating supply contracts with more than ten countries including the United States, Russia, and Europe.
