Gyeongbuk Gunwi-gun Supports Local Taxes for Small Business Owners... Also Suspends License Plate Seizure

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] Gunwi-gun, Gyeongbuk announced on the 4th that it will reduce local taxes for small business owners and small-scale enterprises.

This measure aims to support local small business owners and small-scale enterprises struggling due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The reduction target includes all individual business owners with workplaces in the region, and the resident tax will be fully exempted. Once the local tax reduction agreement is approved at the Gunwi-gun Council's extraordinary meeting to be held this month, it will be implemented immediately.

For residents affected by COVID-19, measures such as deferral of notification, deferral of collection, deferral of delinquency disposition, and deferral of tax investigation will also be implemented. The weekly enforcement of license plate seizure for delinquent vehicles will be suspended.

Kim Young-man, Gunwi-gun Governor, said, "Everyone is having a hard time due to the COVID-19 situation, but especially the difficulties of small business owners and small-scale enterprises, which are a pillar of the local economy, are significant," adding, "We will do our best to overcome the damage and revitalize the local economy."
