[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The KOSPI turned downward in the afternoon due to selling pressure from foreigners and institutions.
As of 1:28 PM on the 3rd, the KOSPI stood at 1715.97, down 0.52% (8.89 points) from the previous session. The index had risen to 1743.91 points earlier in the day but has been declining since the afternoon.
Currently, foreigners and institutions have net sold stocks worth 151.1 billion KRW and 255 billion KRW, respectively. Individual investors bought stocks worth 388.5 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics is trading at 47,000 KRW, up 0.43% from the previous session. Samsung Biologics (0.86%), Celltrion (1.28%), and LG Household & Health Care (1.15%) also rose.
The KOSDAQ index is also down 0.14% (0.78 points) from the previous session, standing at 566.92. The index had risen to 576.27 points earlier but turned downward in the afternoon.
In the market, foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 81.1 billion KRW and 69.8 billion KRW, respectively. Individual investors alone bought stocks worth 147.7 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Celltrion Healthcare (1.74%), HL Biopharma (0.31%), and Seegene (2.10%) rose.
