[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The police have conducted a search and seizure operation targeting an active-duty soldier suspected of being an accomplice who jointly operated the Telegram 'Doctor's Room' with Jo Joo-bin (24, in custody).

The Cyber Safety Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency dispatched investigators to a military unit located in Gyeonggi Province, where Mr. A is serving, and began the search and seizure around 9:30 a.m. on the 3rd.

Mr. A is accused of distributing sexually exploitative materials hundreds of times within the Doctor's Room and promoting the room externally. He is reported to be the user with the nickname 'Igiya,' one of the three co-operators revealed by Jo's lawyer.

Previously, Kim Ho-je, the lawyer representing Jo, stated, "Besides Jo, there were three Doctor's Room administrators with the nicknames 'Buddha,' 'Samagwi,' and 'Igiya.'" However, Kim explained that Jo claimed not to actually know these accomplices. The police have apprehended two of the three and are currently verifying the identity of the remaining individual.

The police plan to seize and analyze evidence such as Mr. A's mobile phone and investigate whether there was collusion with Jo and if there are any additional crimes. They will also examine whether Mr. A participated in the chatroom during his military service.
