Jung Geum-ok Kyobo Life FP Prime Leader
Meeting about 20 people daily... Managing 3,000 clients
Supporting Small Business Clients to Overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] A financial planner who has signed more than three insurance contracts every week for 1,000 consecutive weeks has emerged. The person in question is Jeong Geum-ok, a 27-year veteran financial planner (FP) and FP Prime Leader at Kyobo Life Insurance. In the insurance industry, signing three insurance contracts per week is called '3W (3 per Week)' and is regarded as a symbol of consistency and diligence. Notably, Jeong has achieved steady results over a long period in the small city of Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, rather than in Seoul or other large metropolitan areas, drawing attention.
According to Kyobo Life Insurance on the 3rd, Leader Jeong has signed more than three insurance contracts every week without missing a single week for 1,000 weeks. This record has been ongoing since January 2001, spanning 20 years.
He said, "By setting clear goals and thinking of customers like family, the results naturally followed," adding, "I could never have achieved this without the customers who trusted me."
Leader Jeong starts his day at 6 a.m. and meets 20 to 25 customers daily until 10 p.m. He has consistently adhered to the principles he set for himself when he began as a planner. He shared, "Meeting more than 20 customers daily means I can see each customer's face two to three times a year," and added, "After sharing hearts with customers over a long period, they have become as close as family."
He currently manages about 3,000 customers and can effortlessly recall customers' names, occupations, and family relationships just by looking at their phone numbers. It is common for long-time customers to introduce other customers to him. Customers call him 'Icheon’s Madangbal' (a person with a wide network in Icheon).
Recently, leveraging this specialty, he has been leading efforts to support small business owners in the Icheon area who have suffered due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). He uses half of his income to purchase agricultural products and fruits, which have faced sales difficulties from customers, and gifts them to other customers.
He said, "Many of my customers are small business owners, so I worry a lot," adding, "When I gift high-quality food products I learned about while meeting customers to other customers, many fall in love with the taste and become regular customers, naturally connecting customers and feeling the joy of living together."
Leader Jeong starts each day by checking on existing customers who need help with insurance claims and various insurance-related inquiries. His goal is to help more people understand insurance and overcome adversity through insurance.
He said, "Helping customers maintain their insurance well to enjoy coverage benefits is the fundamental mission of an FP," and added, "I feel the greatest reward when customers who have overcome adversity through insurance express their gratitude."
