"Making Poor Excuses Is Not a Slip of the Tongue"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 3rd, the Minsheng Party criticized Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Future United Party, for saying that "short people cannot even hold the 4.15 general election proportional representation ballot paper with their own hands," stating, "His reckless remarks about visitors to the n-room and disparagement of short citizens consistently show Leader Hwang's lack of empathy and consideration for others."
In a statement on the same day, Lee Yeon-gi, spokesperson for the Minsheng Party's election countermeasures committee, said, "Leader Hwang's 'gapjil language' that hurts the people is being repeated," adding, "He always makes lame excuses that he did not mean it that way, which makes it even more serious. This is not a slip of the tongue."
The spokesperson pointed out, "Politics is about words. Identity is contained in words, and through words, one can see his judgment," and said, "Leader Hwang's words have already sufficiently shown that it is dangerous for him to engage in public activities representing the people."
The spokesperson also said, "The United Party should consider the unfortunate position of the people who are constantly suffering from the rude remarks of its members and leader and the atmosphere of fear, and take emergency measures such as education for the relevant individuals."
