20s Female Resident of Goyang, Gyeonggi Tests Positive for COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] A woman in her 20s residing in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, has been confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 2nd that Ms. A, a woman in her 20s registered at 6th Complex, Sinwondang (Eoullim) Village, Seongsadong, Deogyang-gu, tested positive for COVID-19. Based on her registered address, Ms. A became the 29th confirmed case in Goyang-si.

Since Ms. A’s actual living area is Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center is conducting an epidemiological investigation regarding her detailed movement history. Ms. A returned to Korea on the 15th of last month after a performance in the United States and was living her daily life when symptoms appeared on the 27th of last month. She underwent testing at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on the 1st of this month.

Goyang-si stated, "Ms. A’s parents, who reside in Seongsadong, Deogyang-gu, have been placed under self-quarantine, and specimens have been collected for testing. Disinfection measures at the residence have been completed."
