[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Jung Jong-yeon PD, who directed the tvN variety show series 'Great Escape' and 'The Genius' series, strongly denied being a participant in the Telegram 'Nth Room'.
On the 2nd, Jung Jong-yeon PD issued an official statement through CJ ENM, saying, "All malicious content without sources is false."
PD Jung said, "I am currently using only one phone, and the images being shared as screenshots differ from the actual mobile carrier and phone model I use," adding, "We plan to hold the original distributors and malicious commenters legally responsible."
He also stated, "We have officially requested an investigation from the Cyber Investigation Unit of the Mapo Police Station and are collecting related evidence. We are preparing to file a complaint for spreading false information and defamation," and added, "We will respond strongly without leniency. Please refrain from writing or distributing posts that defame individuals without accurate grounds."
Earlier, a photo capturing a netizen's post asking how to leave Telegram was posted on an online community. The photo included a claim that the ID used by Jung Jong-yeon PD on social networking services (SNS) matched the one in the screenshot.
This led to speculative rumors suggesting that Jung Jong-yeon PD might be connected to the 'Nth Room'.
