The Gwangju Office of Education announced on the 2nd that it is meticulously managing the preparation items for each school (remote education guidance, online real-time training sessions, one professional consultant per school, etc.) to ensure there are no shortcomings in the online school opening for all schools in the district.

Since remote classes are expected to be difficult in vocational high schools focused on practical training, they plan to demonstrate online classes at Gwangju Software Meister High School before the school opening and check for any related issues.

Through this remote class demonstration at Gwangju Software Meister High School, it can be confirmed that practical classes in vocational high schools can also be sufficiently conducted through interactive online remote education.

The Gwangju Office of Education is guiding that, depending on the characteristics of vocational high school subjects, if practical training is difficult, the concentrated period completion system should be used to conduct theoretical major subject classes during the online school opening, and intensive practical classes after returning to school.

The concentrated period completion system allows individual schools to organize specific subjects to be intensively taught and completed within a certain period during the semester.

Additionally, about 17,000 major subject and employment-related content items have been provided for vocational high school teachers to use in online classes.

Ko Ikjong, principal of Gwangju Software Meister High School, said, “We will thoroughly prepare for the online school opening with all faculty and staff by managing students, securing content, opening courses, and conducting pilot operations according to the education office’s promotion plan.”
