[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Kim Sang-yeol, Chairman of Hoban Group, joined the 'Flower Farmers Support Relay Campaign.'

On the 2nd, Chairman Kim participated in the relay campaign to help flower farmers struggling due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). This campaign is conducted in a way similar to the 'Ice Bucket Challenge' held in 2014 to raise funds for patients with Lou Gehrig's disease, promoting flower consumption by taking photos holding bouquets or flowerpots, uploading them on social networking services (SNS), and nominating the next participant. Recently, since Seoul City started this campaign to support flower farmers, it has been expanding to public institutions, financial sectors, and industries.

Chairman Kim joined the campaign upon the recommendation of Choi Hyun-man, Senior Vice Chairman of Mirae Asset Daewoo. He chose baby's breath, which symbolizes pure heart, clean heart, and success of love, and gifted tulips, which symbolize eternal affection, to the participating group company employees. He then recommended Kim Hong-guk, Chairman of Harim Group, as the next participant.

Chairman Kim said, "I joined the campaign with employees to provide a small help to flower farmers suffering from COVID-19," and added, "It would be nice to send spring greetings with beautiful flowers to your precious people around you."
