[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Kim Soo-young) has reported the 19th confirmed COVID-19 case.

The 19th confirmed case is a 51-year-old woman residing in Sinjeong 6-dong, who tested positive on the evening of the 1st and is currently under self-quarantine.

The additional confirmed case is a colleague of an employee who tested positive on March 29 at a call center in Geumcheon-gu. She had been self-quarantining at home since March 30 and underwent the first diagnostic test on March 30 to investigate possible workplace infection, receiving a negative result on March 31.

However, after the negative result, she experienced headaches and fever (37.8℃), leading to a second test on March 31, which confirmed a positive diagnosis on April 1.

The district office has conducted a preliminary epidemiological investigation and requested hospital bed allocation for the confirmed patient. Once allocated, immediate transfer will be arranged. Three cohabitants will also undergo self-quarantine and testing.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “To prevent the spread of COVID-19, please refrain from attending religious gatherings or meetings with many participants, and strictly follow personal hygiene rules such as wearing masks in daily life and practicing proper cough etiquette.” He added, “We will promptly inform the public as soon as the confirmed patient’s movement paths are identified.”
