Munsungyu, CEO of KAMCO, Joins 'Relay Campaign to Support Flower Farmers'

[Asia Economy Reporter Haeyoung Kwon] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) announced on the 1st that President Moon Seong-yu participated in the "Flower Farmers Support Relay Campaign" to promote flower consumption in support of flower farms struggling due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

This campaign is a relay event held to help flower farms whose sales have sharply declined due to the cancellation or reduction of various events and gatherings such as graduation and entrance ceremonies caused by the spread of COVID-19. President Moon joined the campaign upon the recommendation of Nam Ki-chan, President of Busan Port Authority.

On the day, President Moon stated through KAMCO's official social network service (SNS), "KAMCO, which supports the recovery and re-challenge of the most vulnerable groups in our economy such as financially vulnerable groups and rehabilitating small and medium enterprises, expresses its wish for early overcoming of COVID-19 and revitalization of the national economy through the freesia, whose flower language means 'new beginning.' We hope that the true spring of our economy will bloom with new hope in April."

President Moon recommended the next participants to continue the campaign: Yoon Jong-won, President of IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, which cooperates with KAMCO on the collateral recovery support project for small and medium enterprises' movable assets, and Cho Young-bok, Director of the Social Enterprise Research Institute, the operating organization of the "Busan Social Economy Support Fund (BEF)" that helps the startup and growth of social economy enterprises in cooperation with KAMCO and others.

Meanwhile, KAMCO has been actively leading efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and revitalize the stagnant economy by donating a total of 300 million KRW to medical staff and volunteers in the Daegu area who are working hard to treat patients, as well as low-income and vulnerable groups such as child-headed households in Daegu and Busan, amid the prolonged spread of COVID-19.
