Encos, a cosmetics manufacturing company leading the mask pack market (CEO Hong Seong-hoon), has obtained vegan certification from EVE, a globally prestigious certification body based in France.
To receive vegan certification, standards such as the use of non-animal-derived raw materials, non-animal testing raw materials and finished products must be followed, and production must take place in facilities that have passed on-site inspections regarding equipment cleanliness and processes to prevent cross-contamination and mixing.
In February, Encos passed the on-site inspection of its production plant located in Osan Gajang Industrial Complex, enabling the production of vegan products across mask packs, pads, and skincare products.
As awareness spreads worldwide that environmental protection is not a choice but a necessity beyond just being eco-friendly, consumers aiming for sustainable and environmentally conscious consumption are increasing. In particular, environmental ethical values are highly regarded in advanced countries such as North America and Europe, leading companies targeting the global market to compete in launching eco-friendly products, including those with vegan certification.
Encos anticipated the demand for eco-friendly products in advance and has developed various formulations and types of vegan products. Last year, at the Cosmoprof exhibition held in Las Vegas, the company received great response by showcasing eco-friendly mask packs that introduced biodegradable fabrics and packaging.
Currently, Encos is focusing on developing products targeting various countries and expanding specialized personnel with the vision of becoming a global brand-powerful IDM (Innovation Development Manufacturing) company.
