All 130 Close Contacts Including Academy Instructor (6th Confirmed Case) Students Test Negative... Students (Including Attendance and Home Visits), Academy Staff, Confirmed Case Family, and Other Close Contacts All Test Negative After Three Rounds of COVID-19 Testing
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) announced on the 1st that all 130 students and academy staff who had close contact with the academy instructor (6th confirmed case) diagnosed positive on the 29th of last month tested negative.
On the 29th of last month, a teacher at Noon Nopi Shindonga Academy located in Banghak 3-dong was infected with COVID-19, resulting in the 6th confirmed case in Dobong-gu.
In response, the district mobilized all administrative resources to complete initial measures such as self-quarantine for attending students, disinfection of the building, and temporary closure.
According to the epidemiological investigation of 200 enrolled students at the academy at the time of the confirmed case, close contacts were identified as 130 people after excluding those enrolled in overlapping courses and students not attending.
Accordingly, all 130 close contacts underwent specimen collection and virus testing in three rounds, and all tested negative on the 1st.
The test subjects included 92 academy students, 6 academy staff, 4 family members of the confirmed case, 13 home-visit learning students, and 15 other close contacts, totaling 130 people, all currently under self-quarantine.
Additionally, the district recommends temporary closure for businesses at risk of small-scale group infections such as academies, PC rooms, karaoke rooms, and indoor sports facilities, and provides a closure compensation of 1 million KRW to businesses that close for more than two weeks.
Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu stated, “To completely win the fight against COVID-19, it is necessary to block the spread caused by overseas inflow and small-scale group infections and to strengthen social distancing for the time being.” He added, “For this purpose, all residents returning from Europe and the United States undergo specimen collection at the health center before entering self-quarantine, and if they have fever or respiratory symptoms, please contact and consult Dobong-gu Health Center (2091-4483, 4490).”
