"Yesterday, Following Ibumangcheon, 'Incheon Chon-guseok' Insult"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 1st, the Minsheng Party responded to the 'eco-friendly free meals in prison' remark about President Moon Jae-in made on the official YouTube channel of the United Future Party, calling it "a chronic slander of the United Future Party that ignores people's livelihood," and stated, "The Minsheng Party will focus solely on people's livelihood and move forward."
Kim Hyung-gu, spokesperson for the Minsheng Party's election countermeasures committee, said in a commentary on the same day, "It is simply astonishing to see all kinds of abusive remarks being made when we should be looking only at people's livelihood and representing the people's position."
Spokesperson Kim pointed out, "Yesterday, the United Future Party candidate Yeon Su-gap disparaged Incheon as a 'backwater village,' and two years ago, United Future Party lawmaker Jeong Tae-ok's slanderous remark 'If you divorce, live in Bucheon; if you fail, live in Incheon' hurt the citizens of Incheon."
Spokesperson Kim added, "As the opposition party, healthy criticism of the government and ruling party is welcome, but at a time when the government and the people must unite tightly due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) crisis, the United Future Party's agitation aimed solely at winning elections deserves criticism."
