Director Ji Byeongmok of the National Palace Museum appointed as Director of the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage


[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jong-gil] On the 1st, the Cultural Heritage Administration appointed Ji Byeong-mok (58), director of the National Palace Museum, as the head of the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage. The term is two years. The newly appointed director Ji graduated from the Department of History at Sungkyunkwan University and earned a master's degree from the same university's graduate school. He also studied at Paris 7 University in France. After becoming a research curator at the Cultural Heritage Administration in 1988, he served as head of the Excavation and Survey Division of the Cultural Heritage Administration, director of the National Gyeongju Cultural Heritage Research Institute, and director of the National Naju Cultural Heritage Research Institute. His publications include "The Legitimate Theory of Goguryeo in North Korea," "Bronze Age Culture in the Baikal Lake Coastal Area of Siberia," and "The Relationship between Dolmens in the Liaodong Peninsula and the Middle and Lower Reaches of the Yalu River."
