12 More COVID-19 Cases Confirmed at Daegu Nursing and Psychiatric Hospitals

Hansarang Nursing Hospital Confirmed Cases Rise to 121, Surpassing Cheongdo Daenam Hospital

On the 1st, Daegu City announced that 11 additional confirmed cases were identified at Hansarang Nursing Hospital in Seo-gu, including 10 patients and 1 staff member. As a result, the total number of confirmed cases at this hospital has risen to 121. This surpasses the number at Cheongdo Daenam Hospital (120 cases according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency statistics).

At the Second Miju Hospital, a psychiatric hospital located in Dalseong-gun, one inpatient was confirmed positive on the same day, increasing the total confirmed cases at this hospital to 135 (129 patients, 6 staff). The Second Miju Hospital (floors 8?11) shares the same building with Daesil Nursing Hospital (floors 3?7, 94 confirmed cases), resulting in a total of 229 confirmed cases in one building so far.

Accordingly, as of the morning of the 1st, Daegu has recorded 280 confirmed cases in 12 nursing hospitals and 152 confirmed cases in 3 psychiatric hospitals.

A full survey of 2,368 caregivers at 61 hospital-level medical institutions in the Daegu area has been completed, during which 2 confirmed cases were identified (1 at Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital and 1 at Hanshin Hospital in Seo-gu).

The full survey of 2,422 patients at 16 psychiatric hospitals has also been completed. Of these, 1,260 (52%) tested negative, while the remaining 1,162 (48%) are awaiting test results.

As of midnight on the 1st, the number of confirmed cases in Daegu increased by 20 from the previous day to 6,704. The death toll stands at 111 (1.6%), and the number of recovered patients is 4,148 (61.8%). Among these, 4,148 patients (1,958 in hospitals, 2,020 in residential treatment centers, and 170 at home) have recovered. There are 46 patients currently undergoing treatment or waiting for treatment at home after confirmation.
