[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] The National Institute for Mathematical Sciences has begun operating the Busan Medical Mathematics Center (hereinafter referred to as the Medical Mathematics Center) from the 1st to solve mathematical problems and conduct joint R&D with the medical and industrial sectors in Busan and the southeastern region.
Located in the Convergence Medical Research Building of Busan National University Hospital, the Medical Mathematics Center conducts data analysis and verification related to medical and healthcare, discovers and solves mathematical problems in the medical and industrial sectors of the southeastern region, and carries out R&D to address local issues. The Medical Mathematics Center is scheduled to relocate to the Busan Smart City Healthcare Cluster in the future.
The National Institute for Mathematical Sciences expects that through the operation of the Medical Mathematics Center, it will contribute to strengthening advanced medical service capabilities and revitalizing the local economy by supporting the development of customized medical service industries in Busan Metropolitan City and building networks and problem-solving support with local hospitals and medical companies.
Jung Soon-young, director of the National Institute for Mathematical Sciences, stated, "We will do our best to contribute to the successful establishment of the Busan Smart City Healthcare Cluster and the technological advancement of the local medical field through the mathematical capabilities of the institute."
