LG Uplus Offers Higher Trade-in Credit for Used Phones When Purchasing Galaxy S20

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] LG Uplus is providing additional trade-in compensation to subscribers who purchase the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Z Flip, and Galaxy Fold.

On the 1st, LG Uplus announced that when exchanging a used device for a new Galaxy smartphone, they will pay a higher compensation amount than their usual trade-in price. For the two months of April and May, customers purchasing any of the three models ▲Galaxy S20 ▲Galaxy Z Flip ▲Galaxy Fold through LG Uplus can receive up to double the trade-in value of their previously used device.

For example, if using a Galaxy S9, the trade-in price of 130,000 KRW will be supplemented with an additional 130,000 KRW, totaling 260,000 KRW. Other Samsung devices such as Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G will receive an additional compensation of over 100,000 KRW. The Galaxy S7 Edge will receive an additional 74,000 KRW, and the Galaxy S8 an additional 93,000 KRW.

In addition to Samsung smartphones, Apple used devices including iPhone 8, iPhone 8+, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS MAX will receive an additional 100,000 KRW compensation. Other Samsung devices and iPhone 7, iPhone 7+ will receive additional compensation ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 KRW.

LG Uplus launched the cloud gaming service ‘GeForce Now’ basic plan on the 1st and offers it free to 5G customers. GeForce Now is a service that allows PC games to be enjoyed on 5G smartphones and low-spec PCs, supporting over 200 popular games including League of Legends, Tekken 7, and Fortnite.

Additionally, LG Uplus is providing extra cashback discounts on communication fees to customers purchasing with the ‘LGU+ Shinhan Card’ at Electronics Land’s online and offline stores until June 30. Customers who spend over 100,000 KRW will receive 5,000 KRW, and those who spend over 200,000 KRW will receive 10,000 KRW refunded once per month on their communication fees. The eligible credit cards for this benefit are four types: ▲LGU+ Smart Plan ▲LGU+ Light Plan ▲LGU+ Smart10 ▲LGU+ Highlight.
