[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] Broadcaster Noh Hong-chul revealed a past blind date story with singer Lee Hyori.
On the first broadcast of cable channel Mnet's 'Between Quiz and Music' on the 31st of last month, Noh Hong-chul, Shin Ji, Kim Na-young, Lee Guk-joo, and Seol Ha-yoon appeared and were seen answering quizzes related to music from the 1990s to 2000s.
When a quiz about Lee Hyori was presented, Noh Hong-chul opened up by saying, "Hyori is still cool now, but back then, she was beyond words."
Noh Hong-chul said, "Looking back now, it sounds childish, but at that time, each school had famous friends who were number one in looks or number one in fighting. There was a rumor that Lee Hyori only dated number ones. I was number one in chatting, at least. Eventually, a blind date with Lee Hyori was arranged," drawing attention.
He continued, "A week later, I received a photo of Lee Hyori. I still have that photo. When I saw it, I thought it was a profile picture because she was so pretty. Her beauty was unbelievable," and revealed the photo of Lee Hyori he had kept.
The cast then asked whether the blind date between Lee Hyori and Noh Hong-chul actually happened, and Noh Hong-chul said, "We set up the appointment and I went out, but Lee Hyori didn’t show up on the day of the blind date. I’m not lying. I could bet my entire fortune on it. Did she not come because she saw my photo?"
He added, "Later, I met Lee Hyori on a broadcast and asked if she remembered the incident, but Lee Hyori said, 'I don’t know. I have no memory of that.' I still have the photo..." which brought laughter.
