First Implemented Last Year as Seoul's First Autonomous District... Recruiting Participating Companies and Job Seekers Until September 30... Strengthening Youth Employment Stability Through Employment Subsidies, In-House Mentoring Fees, and Self-Development Training Expenses
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Chang-woo Lee) will promote the ‘2030 Customized Employment Support’ project until December.
Last year, the district was the first autonomous district in Seoul to implement a project that allows companies to hire young job seekers in the region and simultaneously nurture the necessary talent through job performance and training. Thirteen companies and about 20 job seekers participated.
In particular, unlike last year which focused on intern recruitment, this year the project will be conducted on the condition of conversion to regular employment.
Eligible participating companies must have business sites located in Seoul and be ▲priority support companies under the Employment Insurance Act or small and medium-sized enterprises ▲youth start-ups and venture companies among companies with fewer than five employees, cultural content businesses ▲non-profit organizations that fit the purpose of the project.
Job seekers are 25 individuals who are Dongjak-gu residents aged between 18 and 39, graduates (or expected graduates) of universities (graduate schools) in the region, or participants in job projects conducted by the district this year.
Main support includes ▲employment subsidies paying 70% of the ordinary wage for four months (up to 1 million KRW per month) to companies ▲80,000 KRW per month for in-house mentoring when conducting job training and mentoring for hires ▲education expenses up to 300,000 KRW per month for self-development of hires, with a maximum of three people per company. Support is provided only if hired and joined through this project.
Companies and job seekers wishing to apply must submit application forms, copies of business registration certificates, and employment insurance subscriber confirmation documents by visiting the district office’s Job Policy Division or via email (kidaharu@dongjak.go.kr) by September 30.
For more details, contact the Job Policy Division.
The district will select participating companies through on-site visits within a week after receiving applications and conduct customized job seeker matching using the social headhunter operated by the district.
Jin-hee Cho, head of the Job Policy Division, said, “We hope this project will create a virtuous cycle of jobs where companies and job seekers can grow together,” and added, “We encourage many interested companies and job seekers to participate.”
Since this month, the district has been promoting the ‘Dongjak Youth Policy Network’ project for one year, which includes ▲monitoring Dongjak-gu policies ▲forming and operating subcommittees by youth interest fields ▲holding youth and subcommittee-related events such as discussions, forums, and workshops ▲and holding three regular meetings annually.
