[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Jungnang-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center) supports single-person households and prospective single-person households in the Seoul metropolitan area to live physically and mentally healthy and happy through its single-person household support project.
The single-person household support project is broadly divided into ▲ educational and cultural programs that help with the daily lives of single-person households ▲ self-help group activity programs that improve social isolation of single-person household members ▲ psychological counseling programs that help resolve difficulties experienced while living alone through consultations with professional counselors. Participation is free of charge.
As an educational and cultural program, from April, the Center will run the ‘Single-Person Household Independence Support Program 「Happy Holiday」’.
The program contents include ▲ ‘Self-Care’ (April) such as learning self-defense, making dreamcatchers, and psychological tests ▲ ‘Self-Management’ (June) such as making a life timetable and financial accounting education ▲ ‘Self-Expression’ (August) such as organizing and storage education and speech training. The single-person household self-help group is a program where three or more people gather to study, enjoy hobbies, volunteer, etc. at least once a month to escape social isolation and continuously build relationships. Applications can be made via email (jungnang4142@naver.com). If selected as a self-help group, activity expenses are supported and priority registration for various single-person household programs is granted.

Opened in 2007, the Jungnang-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center provides diverse and safe family welfare services such as support for multicultural families, parent education, operation of shared childcare spaces, and support for single-person households, receiving positive responses from residents.
