[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hye-min] It has been reported that Russia delivered a large amount of medical supplies to support the United States, which is suffering from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

This was announced through U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Russia's TASS news agency, President Trump stated at a briefing held at the White House on the 30th (local time) that Russia sent a large transport plane loaded with medical supplies to the United States.

President Trump said, "We have good relations with many countries. China sent us some supplies, and Russia also sent a very large transport plane loaded with medical supplies."

President Trump did not specify what items or how much Russia and China sent. However, he repeatedly said, "They sent us very surprising and pleasing things," boasting about the government's achievements.

On the same day, President Trump had a phone call with Russian President Putin to discuss measures to cope with COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Russia previously supported Italy by transporting about 200 experts and medical personnel, as well as inspection and quarantine equipment, using 14 military transport planes.
