Yangcheon-gu Provides Up to 1 Million KRW in Closure Support Funds for PC Rooms and Karaoke Studios

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will provide closure support funds to multi-use facility businesses that have suspended operations in compliance with social distancing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The support targets a total of 774 locations registered, permitted, or licensed in Yangcheon-gu, including ▲117 PC rooms ▲239 karaoke rooms ▲418 private sports facilities.

The closure support funds will be given to businesses that voluntarily close for 5 days or more during the recommended closure period (April 1?10).

Yangcheon-gu recommends businesses voluntarily choose to close for either 5 or 10 days, providing 500,000 KRW for 5 days of closure and 1,000,000 KRW for 10 days of closure.

The funds will be disbursed after document review and on-site verification starting April 15. However, Yangcheon-gu plans to conduct unannounced visits to participating businesses, and any business found operating even for a single day will be excluded from support.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “We aim to share some of the difficulties faced by local businesses struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation by providing closure support funds,” adding, “We will continue to support quarantine measures and strengthen preventive promotional activities for multi-use facilities.”
