MG Insurance Appoints New CEO Yunsik Park

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] MG Insurance announced on the 31st that it held its regular general meeting of shareholders and board of directors and appointed Park Yoon-sik as the new CEO.

CEO Park graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, earned a master's degree from Sogang University, and completed an MBA at Cornell University in the United States. He worked at Cheil Bank, Arthur Andersen Korea, and PWC Consulting before serving as Vice President of Dongbu Fire & Marine Insurance and CEO of Hanwha General Insurance. His term is three years, lasting until the regular shareholders' meeting in 2023. In particular, CEO Park is recognized as a financial expert with outstanding crisis management skills and change innovation strategies, making him the right person to lead MG Insurance as it approaches business normalization.

Upon taking office, CEO Park is expected to launch company-wide management innovation activities and devote full efforts to the growth and leap forward of MG Insurance. MG Insurance plans to promptly complete the immediate task of capital expansion.

In his inauguration message, CEO Park said to employees, "Let us vigorously promote company-wide change and innovation," adding, "In the rapidly changing future financial market environment, let us establish ourselves as a fast, smart, and specialized strong small insurance company equipped with competitive human and technological foundations."
