[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] Korean-American Hollywood actor Daniel Dae Kim has been declared fully recovered from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the 30th (local time), Daniel Dae Kim announced his recovery along with a photo on his Instagram.
He tested positive for COVID-19 on the 19th in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was in self-quarantine. On the 20th, he posted on his Instagram, "I tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, but I am okay," and urged, "I hope everyone stays safe, calm, and healthy."
Although many fans were shocked by Daniel Dae Kim's COVID-19 diagnosis, he announced his recovery less than two weeks after testing positive.
In a video released that day, Daniel Dae Kim said, "There were times when I felt unwell, but now I am fully recovered and can go anywhere." He also expressed gratitude, saying, "This is my final update regarding COVID-19. I sincerely thank everyone who prayed for me."
He added a message of encouragement, saying, "I hope my posts help anyone in need. Please continue to send love and prayers to everyone fighting this pandemic."
Meanwhile, on the 19th, Daniel Dae Kim urged people to stop indiscriminate hatred against Asians on his Instagram. He emphasized, "Please stop prejudice and meaningless violence against Asian people. I am Asian and have COVID-19, but I did not get it from China. I got it in New York."
