[Asia Economy (Namyangju) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Department of Clinical Pathology at Kyungbok University has almost monopolized the nationwide first place in the national certification exam. Following 2015 and 2017, it also ranked first in last year's national exam.
Perhaps because of this, the Department of Clinical Pathology at this school has many alumni siblings who enrolled upon the recommendation of their older brothers or sisters.
Choi Jeong-ho (Class of 2019), who is currently enrolled in the Department of Clinical Pathology, entered the department upon the recommendation of his older brother, Choi Jeong-min (Class of 2015). Jeong-min currently works at Seegene, a KOSDAQ-listed company that rose to the third largest market capitalization with its COVID-19 diagnostic kits. This company was also recently visited by President Moon Jae-in.
Jeong-ho said, "I enrolled in Kyungbok University's Department of Clinical Pathology because my brother recommended it, saying that the pass rate for the clinical pathology national certification exam is 100% every year, and that the practical training environment and quality of classes are far superior to other universities."
There is also Jeong Hee-seon (Class of 2019), who enrolled in the Department of Clinical Pathology following her older sister.
Hee-seon was influenced by her older sister, Jeong Hee-jin (Class of 2013), and entered the clinical pathology department at this university. Hee-jin currently works at a university hospital.
Hee-seon said, "I became interested in the profession of clinical pathology because I wanted to work in a hospital, and I heard that Kyungbok University offers innovative, field-centered education and has excellent practical training environments. Thanks to my sister, I have received a lot of help with studying and have easily adapted to school life."
Hee-seon's dream is to become a clinical pathologist at a university hospital like her sister.
