[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Jangheung-gun Duck Association (President Shin Seok-in) announced on the 31st that it donated 1,000 smoked ducks to Jangheung-gun to be delivered to elderly living alone and vulnerable groups in the region who are struggling due to COVID-19.

The Jangheung-gun Duck Association is composed of a council of 42 local duck farming households.

The association donated smoked ducks as supplies for the Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival events in 2018 and 2019, and has been actively contributing to the local community, including donating 5 million won to the Jangheung-gun Talent Development Scholarship Fund.

Shin Seok-in, president of the Duck Association, said, “With village halls temporarily closed due to COVID-19, we hope that the support items, gathered with sincerity by the association members for elderly living alone and neighbors in difficulty within the district, will provide warm encouragement to those in need.”

Jangheung-gun Mayor Jeong Jong-sun expressed gratitude to the Duck Association for donating smoked ducks to neighbors struggling due to COVID-19, and urged them to continue their efforts for the development of Jangheung-gun’s duck industry and livestock farming.
