At 1:30 PM on the 30th, an employee of the Sinnae 2-dong Community Service Center in Jungnang-gu visited the home of Park Chansu (71), who has mobility difficulties, to receive an application for emergency disaster livelihood support.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) announced that starting from the 30th, they are visiting households with mobility difficulties who are struggling due to COVID-19 to accept applications for emergency disaster living expenses support.
The support target for emergency disaster living expenses is households with income below 100% of the median income (4-person household 기준 4,749,174 KRW).
Applications can be submitted online through the Seoul Welfare Portal from March 30 to May 15. For elderly or disabled individuals with mobility difficulties, calling the 120 Dasan Call Center or the local community service center will allow them to make a reservation, after which staff from the community center will visit to accept the application.
From April 16, applications can also be submitted directly at the local community service centers.
The support amounts are ▲300,000 KRW for 1-2 person households ▲400,000 KRW for 3-4 person households ▲500,000 KRW for households with 5 or more members, and will be provided via Jungnang Love Gift Certificates or prepaid cards.
Jungnang-gu has established a dedicated task force for emergency disaster living expenses support to ensure smooth project implementation, creating a rapid support system from application and reception to investigation, payment, and monitoring.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, stated, “We will ensure that even those with mobility difficulties receive emergency disaster living expenses support without omission,” and added, “We hope this support will alleviate some of the economic hardships felt by residents due to COVID-19 and help revitalize the local economy.”
