NC Kim Taek-jin received 9.5 billion won salary... Naver Han Seong-suk 2.9 billion won Kim Taek-jin, CEO of NCSoft


[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kim Taek-jin, CEO of NCSoft, received a total compensation of 9.45 billion KRW last year.


According to NCSoft's 2019 business report released on the 30th, CEO Kim received a salary of 1.847 billion KRW, bonuses of 7.586 billion KRW, and other labor income of 17 million KRW last year.


Although this is among the highest in the industry, it represents a decrease of about 32% compared to his 2018 annual salary of 13.836 billion KRW.


An NCSoft official explained, "This reflects a 35% decrease in operating profit for the 2018 performance year compared to the previous year," adding, "NCSoft implements a compensation policy linked to performance."


Vice President Bae Jae-hyun received 16.237 billion KRW, far surpassing CEO Kim in total amount. Vice President Bae earned 14.363 billion KRW through stock options.


Bang Jun-hyuk, chairman of the board and largest shareholder of Netmarble, received 1.386 billion KRW last year. CEO Kwon Young-sik received 1.187 billion KRW.

Han Sung-sook, CEO of Naver who succeeded in her reappointment, received 2.984 billion KRW, including a salary of 1.2 billion KRW and bonuses of 1.68 billion KRW. Founder Lee Hae-jin, Global Investment Officer (GIO), received 1.237 billion KRW. Naver's Choi In-hyuk, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chae Sun-joo, Chief Communications Officer (CCO), and Park Sang-jin, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), each recorded annual salaries in the 1.3 billion KRW range.


Jo Soo-yong, co-CEO of Kakao, earned a total of 2.149 billion KRW last year, including a salary of 751 million KRW, bonuses of 59 million KRW, and stock options worth 1.339 billion KRW. The annual salaries of Kakao founder Kim Beom-su, chairman of the board, and co-CEO Yeo Min-soo were below 500 million KRW and thus were not disclosed.
