A Message of Thanks from a COVID-19 Patient from Daegu Treated at Jeonnam National University Hospital

A confirmed COVID-19 patient from Daegu, Mr. A, who was treated and discharged from Bitgoeul Jeonnam National University Hospital (Hospital Director Lee Sinseok), an infectious disease dedicated hospital, sent a letter of thanks to the medical staff.
According to Bitgoeul Jeonnam National University Hospital on the 30th, Mr. A, who was admitted with his daughter on the 7th and fully recovered after 18 days before returning to his hometown, posted a message of gratitude and photos taken during his hospital stay on the hospital’s website bulletin board “Voice of Customers” on the day of his discharge, the 25th.
Starting his post with “I am a mother of a child who will be discharged in a few hours,” Mr. A recalled the anxious time waiting for a hospital room in Daegu after testing positive and the fear he felt immediately after being admitted to a hospital outside Daegu, describing the bleak situation before hospitalization.
However, as he began receiving full medical treatment, he emphasized that “the medical staff did so well that my worries became meaningless, and it was a continuous source of inspiration.”
He especially expressed gratitude to the nurses and medical staff of Ward 51 who cared for him in protective suits and did not forget to thank the head nurse who prepared homemade side dishes.
Mr. A concluded by saying, “I believe that raising my child to be a healthy child who can share the warm affection shown by the medical staff is the way I can repay them.”
Besides Mr. A, many patients who have visited Bitgoeul Jeonnam National University Hospital have expressed their gratitude to the medical staff in various ways, creating warm inspiration for the medical staff who are devoted to overcoming COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Bitgoeul Jeonnam National University Hospital has treated a total of 48 patients as of the 27th, after first receiving 7 confirmed patients from the Daegu area on the 4th. By region, there are 32 patients from Daegu, 15 from Gwangju, and 1 from Jeonnam.
