Candidate Shin Jeong-hoon Focuses on 'Social Distancing' Online Election Campaign

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Shin Jeong-hoon, the Democratic Party candidate for Naju·Hwasun, Jeonnam, announced on the 30th that he will focus on online campaigning for the time being until the 5th of next month in accordance with the government's social distancing guidelines, and from the 6th, he plans to conduct offline election campaigns alongside online ones depending on the COVID-19 situation.

Candidate Shin plans to refrain from offline events and minimize face-to-face contact with citizens, replacing the traditional offline election kickoff with promotions using YouTube or SNS (social networking services). He will focus on a calm campaign atmosphere through volunteer activities for quarantine and picketing campaigns to overcome COVID-19.

Shin said, “I deliver messages of comfort and hope to the local residents exhausted by COVID-19,” and promised, “I will prioritize policies to protect citizens' health, lives, and livelihoods from the spread of COVID-19 and economic recession.”

He plans to hold relay policy meetings to seek solutions to local issues and frequently create communication opportunities that listen attentively even to small voices so that the vivid voices from the field can be reflected in policy pledges.
